Cold Water Tanks! Behind The Scenes At The Vancouver Aquarium
A very efficient set up. His equipment, fish and corals look very nice and well taken care of.
I always love your videos, you are always to the point, you're a great teacher!
Amazing tank and canopy, how is that canopy sitting on the tank ?
tank equipment, livestock and even the salt being used is regional. most reefers in one area or region tend to have similar equipment, livestock and salt just because of the availability from vendors etc. and proven results.
Lookin very nice!
It sure was
😃🤘
🤘🤘
Need to go check out Bradon May tank
Brandon was out of town!
We have the same tank!! Huge inspiration!
💪💪
Bro I have the same issue. Phosphates .25 and nitrates 10 No matter what I do I can’t reduce them. Looks like I shouldn’t do anything 😆 I have no algae in the tank either Also I have the same led t5 setup. Bravo
If everything is looking good and healthy with good growth keep it how you have it 😁😁
@@WorldWideCorals I had a mini crash which I think occurred from me trying to reduce them. Now I’m just kinda letting them go and everything seems fine. Thanks!
what do you recommend for a 15 gallon tank I only have two clown fishes and one ananomi and 1 big mushroom that looks like a tree and a shrimp and 2 Snails in 3 or 2 snails that live under the sand.
What do you have right now?
Having Acros, Scoli, and a huge anemone all thriving together in such a small tank is an incredible feat!
It sure is!!
Great video josh, i always listened to your approach but never really understood it until this video. 'Back to school with Josh'. Next topic: Flow! All the team are doing a fantastic job with these videos.
Thank you so much James, I also love the "Back to school with Josh"
My favorite is white zombie
Love the video you "Rock"
Thank you!!
Josh. thanks for the helpful information. i did have a question about anemones. do they prefer stronger blues or whites. i like your lighting schedule in regards to 3-4 hours of blues with some white and then 8 of strickly blues. do you think the anemones would like it ?
thanks brother. very helpful
Happy Josh was able to fill in some blanks for you.
This tank has inspired me to get back in the hobby! Just ordered all my gear for the build 😂
Sorry man, you lost me on this one. You need to vet the tanks a bit better.
Wow. That is amazingly beautiful.
Thank you!
That’s motivation !! I watched this video 5x on UA-cam.
That guy lives in my house
You guy's are G's! Thank you so much for this information. Now im definitely going bare bottom in my peninsula tank.
Thank you so much for the words! So happy we would inspire you
how about I put intensity to 100% , then Only adjust the individual percent on the different colour channels ?
How is all the coral doing right now?
Thank you josh for your expert video series. they are so useful and based on experience of WWC. you are continuating the work done by ryan on hobby education and i looking very much forward to more content. even for the non newbie I still learned a lot and more importantly, realized that my template was way too complicated and I probably under lighted my tank. Going to follow your advice and keepit more simple with peak intensity period, then blue period with 2 simple ramp up and down.
Thank you for all the love and support on the channel, We are so happy that we have been able to help you on this reefing journey.
What lights do you personally use?
For which system?
@@WorldWideCorals For at home usage For you? Just curious since you said Expensive lighting Is not always needed for successful system. You can go the cheaper route at a certain point.
@@quanhardy1439 Up until recently, XR30's. Just hooked up Dalua x4's last week.
@@WorldWideCorals speaking hypotheticals, Would you hook up an expensive lighting system on a system under 50 gallon? Just curious to when it makes more sense to go with the more expensive lighting.
@@quanhardy1439 Looking at longevity and if you can afford it I would look to get one so you do not have to change it down the line.
Victor we love you!!!
There's so much information in this video, I'm watching it a second time to retain. Josh absolutely broke everything down and dished out knowledge for the common folks
Keep it on that Loop!
Solid beard.
it Has magic powers
Sensational video, thank you for sharing your knowledge!
You are so welcome!! Thank you for watching.
Just downloaded most of them trying the wp500g over my tank now just added 2 xr15s over my 24x24 tank 12 inches off the water
🤘🤘
I’ve had my tank for 3 years and I can’t keep sps to save my life but my lps especially my acans have the brightest nicest colours I’ve ever seen
spotted the little guy at 14:30! i didnt see any comments spotting him so i figured id still try ;P
Yes Josh needs to make more videos. Or maybe we should call him Dr Josh. The information was simple and so easy to understand. That even a cave man can do it now. Thanks again for the video. I’m going to watch it again,as I’m sure I missed something.
Pick up as much as you can!!, We will keep the vids coming
11:44 I have an algae problem and was thinking of doing this
Let us know how it goes.
Hands down the best explaining of lights/spectrum/par video I have ever watched
Thank you for saying that! We are so happy it was able to help
Great video Josh. Based on this information, I made some changes. Thank you
No problem at all!!
Thanks! For full spectrum on an xr15 blue would you set everything to 100% or 55% like you did with the 30s?
How big is the tank?
@WorldWideCorals it's a 25g. Currently I have red, cool white and warm light at 35% and everything else at 100%, but an overall intensity of 70% definitely going to adjust to using point intensity. Would you recommend setting all to 70% for the white full spectrum portion?
@@hiimmoike How is all the coral doing right now? Has something prompted you into looking at a change?
Everything looks just OK, not great but not bad. I recently got some soft corals the look better in white so looking to have less of a blue full spectrum in the 1st half like you guys! Its mostly blue then super blue right now 😂
It was the best advice anyone had given me over the years. SPS and LPS are booming now. Thank you!
No problem!! 😎😎
Josh, thank you so much for breaking this down, and going into such detail about it. I have adjusted my lights accordingly to your directions as a first time LED user. I was just changing and changing because of what other people said that works for them, but I wasn’t getting the growth or anything that I wanted. Your video really helped me understand how and what I should do. Thank you again!
You are so welcome!! And thank you for the love and support on the channel.
This guy is awesome, what an inspiring variety of tanks!
Thanks for this video! It helped me understand my lighting much more and how to set a base line and what to do or change over time to continue to work towards the results I want. Love the technical videos. They compliment the show off videos very well. Here’s what good looks like but here’s how you get there!
So happy we could help! 😁😁
😃🤘
Do the experiment with a cheap light Try a K7 Noopsyche.
I will pass the idea along.
Wow super clear video! Been in the hobby for years and this has been the best lighting video I've seen. Simple and clear
Thank you so much for watching.
this brings me to an undertanding thar I cant force a coral to grow, I can only fufill its needs.
🙌🙌 Yesss!!!
Amazing video. I learned.
Thank you so much!!
Name the stuff?
This was incredibly helpful, Josh. 🙏👊
No problem Scott!!
For how long?
Would I benefit from switching my two Radion XR15wG3 Pros out for some Gen 6's for growing SPS? or will I be okay with what I have? It would be nice if you could go into more detail using the Mobius app with the Radion lights.
The g3s are absolutely more than enough to grow sps. I'm no expert, but I've got gen 4s. And I grow sps just fine. I think water quality and stability are key. Lighting boosts your water quality and flow
Wouldn't it be great if lighting apps were thoroughly explained by BRS? Read the manual isn't always bringing the answers. I went from Radio to ATI Straton Flex which is a great lamp, but man, this app..... I've had this experience with other apps as well, the producers try to make a video in which they explain their lamps and apps but aren't so well at explaining ....in great detail. Thanks Josh for your well explained video.
Corr.: Radion
We would ask you "How is everything doing as of right now"?
If you've had the same schedule for 2 years and you wanted to switch to something like this. How would you go about it?
I think that's a real good question. If you turn down your light schedule there's hardly a problem. If you turn them up, do it in steps of 5%.
Any change you want to do it in small increments, A 5-10% change and see how everything reacts over a couple of days and make another small change if need be.
I have 4 xo blue strips and 2 Radions over a 120. I found the 4 blue strips put out way more light than I realized. I now run them on setting 3 out of 6 with the Radions at around 43% max with the regular blues turned down on Radions. Corals doing much better. I didn’t realize how much I was blasting them. Par meter verified this change.
The coral will tell you if something is wrong, Good for you on watching that and making that change for them.
